Description
his lecture series was started by me and my sister Dr Sadhana Desai, an eminent Gynecologist and IVF specialist to commemorate the birth centenary of our father - late Justice Kantilal Thakordas Desai, known as K.T. by the Bar and the Bench. We hoped that in this fashion we could convey his values and his concept of law and justice to the present and coming gener- ations of lawyers and judges. We also hoped to give to the legal profession and the judiciary a glimpse of how eminent men and women in the field of law look at their professional responsibilities or evaluate the questions before them. I hope we have succeeded in doing this to a reasonable extent.
My father was very concerned about the training of young law- yers joining the profession. He tried to help and encourage them, both when he was an eminent lawyer and later as an equally well- known judge. We hope that these lectures have given the young lawyers and law students an opportunity to see and hear some of the famous judges and lawyers of our time.
