Description
This fourth edition of Patent Law comes seven years after the third edition. During the last seven years the Patents Act was amended three times. The first amendment took place in 1999 which introduced the concept of Exclusive Marketing Rights. Thereafter the Patents (Amendment) Act 2002 was passed which came into force on 20th May 2003 (Act No. 38 of 2002). Finally the Patents (Amendment) Act 2005 (Act No. 15 of 2005) was passed which came into force on 1st January 2005. The Patents Rules 2003 which was passed consequent to Patents (Amendment) Act 2002 was amended by Patents (Amendment) Rules 2005 which came into force on 1st January 2005.
