It gives me immense pleasure to place before you the sixth edition of Justice Tek Chand and H L Sarin's seminal work on the law of contempt. The book, in its 81st year of publication, presents a comprehensive statement of the law relating to criminal and civil contempt of courts. It is a comprehensive reference work and an indispensable aid to understand the scope, procedure,  developments and judicial precedents relating to the law of contempt. Apart from courts, the commentary also explains the contempt of legislatures and tribunals.
