Description
The study of the Constitution of India and Indian Polity is incomplete without understanding the role played by Indian Judiciary in altering India through various Landmark Judgments by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court of India being part of the Indian Judiciary, has been involved in shaping India, changing India, and transforming India. To understand the Soul of India, it is important to understand the Constitution of India. However, unlike any other document, the Constitution of India is an 'Alive Document'. The different parts and provisions of the Constitution have been interpreted by the Supreme Court of India in various of its landmark judgments. The law laid down by the Supreme Court of India in its Judgment is the "Lex-loci (the law of the country)”.
This book, "Landmark Judgments on Indian Constitution that Transformed India" allows every reader to understand the Landmark Judgment in a very easy and simplified manner that everyone needs to know about. By going through these landmark judgments, anyone can clearly understand the evolution and transformation of the Constitution of India and also the emergence of the Indian Judiciary as one of the most powerful among any other organization in India.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar states, “Constitution is not a mere lawyer's document, it is a vehicle of life and its spirit is always the spirit of the age".
Sometimes subsequent to the law of the ruling of the Supreme Court of India is changed but it already left an imprint. Therefore, in order to understand the imprints of the cases provided by those judgments pronounced by the Supreme Court of India; we have to look into the cases. Such a list of cases is given at the end. This book effectively serves the requirements of many competitive examinations, Particularly the UPSC Civil Services Examination (Prelims, Mains, and Interview). I hope this book will be equally useful to all academics, legal students, and general readers who are interested in Indian Polity and the Constitution of India.
Inspite, I'm sure that this book will be welcomed by all.
