Description
The revising author takes pride in presenting the nineteenth edition of the book "Jurisprudence (Legal Theory) " Which has been thoroughly revised, updated and enlarged, keeping in view the modern development in the theory of law. Jurisprudence is the science of civil law. A jurist has his own notion of the subject-matter of jurisprudence-the science of law. There are two extreme to the scope of law, one being its coercive character and the other social acceptance, viz., the observance of law by the community as a result of the growth custom and conviction on the part of the observing group that it is just and fair. In this revising edition four new Chapters are included, i.e., 'Statutory Interpretation', 'Codification','Law of Intellectual Property','Welfare Legislation and its Interpretation', 'Law and Social Changes' and 'Human Rights'. It is hoped that with the improvements made in the text of the revised edition, the book will be of greater utility and assistance to all concerned in understanding and appreciating the concept of law in its various facets and its applicability to myriad combination of facts and circumstances arising in the complex Indian society.
