Author Details
Justice R. Banumathi,
former Judge of the Supreme Cort of India, was elevated to the Supreme Court in August 2014 and retired in July 2020. She is the second woman Judge to have risen to the Supreme Court from the ranks. Born on 20.07.1995, Justice R. Banumathi enrolled as an advocate at the age of twenty-six years. She was elevated as the Judge of the Madras High Court in 2003 and she dealt with various subjects and pronounced number of landmark judgments. Justice R. Banumathi was elevated as the Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court in November 2013. In the state of Jharkhand, Justice R. Bhanumati pronounced number of judgments on Mines and Minerals and tax matters. As Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, she has greatly improved the infrastructure of the District Judiciary and spruced up administration.
