Description
This is an attempt to bring out, on Information Technology Law, a suitable Text Book for the law students. Generally, it is found that Information Technology Law is by no means an easy subject. Its understanding is difficult not only for the lawyers, even for the students as well, so somewhere the students cram them out. Keeping in view these difficulties of the students, care has been taken to make the Book simple, clear and in non-technical language. The Book has been divided into six parts. Part I contains three chapters defining
the objectives of Information Technology Act, 2000 and scope of E-Banking and E-Commerce. Part II is divided into three chapters which explain the concept of Digital Signatures, E-Governance and E-Contracts. Part III contains four chapters which give the overview of the Security and Regulatory Framework under the Act. Part IV has two chapters which explain the Penalties, Compensation, Adjudication
and Appellate Tribunal. Part V is the lengthiest part in this book which is divided into five chapters and takes a look at Cyber Offences, i.e., Cyber Fraud, Cyber Hacking, Cyber Defamation, Identity Theft, Cyber Obscenity, Cyber Terrorism etc. Lastly, Part VI contains three chapters related to role of Intermediaries and other miscellaneous provisions under Information Technology Act. During the course
of discussion, relevant sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000 have also been incorporated at their appropriate places. I hope that this Book will fully serve the purpose of the students appearing in any examination.
