Description
The banks endeavour to outreach the un-banked and under-banked segments without extending their branch network. The | Business Correspondent model has come handy for fulfilling this. This book is the outcome of the Institute's efforts in supplementing the rote of banks in ushering in an era of inclusive growth and is intended to assist the candidates appearing in the Certificate examination targeted to the emerging cadre of financial intermediaries called business correspondents, who will take banking and financial services to people in areas, where there are no bank branches. It is well recognised that for meeting the challenges of reaching the un-reached effectively and converting them into growing and sustainable business for banks, there is no alternative to adoption of ICT solutions on a very large scale and range. Covered in the book is therefore the scalabity of the IT-enabled systems and services to offer doorstep banking to the hitherto excluded population.
