Description
Consumer movements spread through out the world to protect consumers from exploitation of unscrupulous manufacturers, traders and service providers. Almost all the countries enacted statutes to protect consumers and to promote welfare of the society. In India too, Consumer Protection Act, 1986 has been enacted and amended from time to time. All these years consumer protection law has been taught by linking it with 'Law of Torts'. There are a number of voluminous books on 'Consumer Protection Act, 1986' which are useful to practising Advocates. At present, many universities and National Law Institutes are prescribing 'Consumer Protection Law' as a separate subject for LL.B (B.L) course. As there are few books, which deal with the prescribed syllabus of the subject, the author attempted to present this text-book. This is his 45th textbook written for the use of Law students and Law faculties.
