Description
After the enactment of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, an urgent need was felt to take steps to ease the fast enforcement of contracts, trouble-free recovery of pecuniary claims, lessen the pendency of case in courts and speed up the procedure of dispute resolution through arbitration. The Government promulgated the Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2015 which received assent from the President on 23rd October, 2015 so as to promote foreign investment by projecting India as an investor friendly country having a sound legal framework and ease of doing business in India. The Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Bill, 2015 has now become an Act after having received the Presdent's assent on 31.12.2015 and shall be deemed to have come into force on the 23rd October, 2015. The present book covers all the recent amendments made by Arbitration and Conciliation (Amendment) Act, 2015 in the existing law. The content has been simplified and expanded with a special thrust on latest cases and updated information making the book more relevant
