Description
The book in the reader's hands says nothing new or special. It retells the story of World Trade Organization (WTO) law, which is an aspect of international relations. But every narrator develops her own style of communication. I have retold WTO law as it exists today in my own way. As an introductory textbook, it is aimed for the table of the under- graduate and postgraduate law students. The purpose is to introduce a learner to WTO jurisprudence. The book may also be helpful to teachers as a quick reference guide. I have stated that the book retells the story of WTO law. This is because I have writ- ten the book not from a lawyer's but from a teacher's perspective. A lawyer would comprehensively discuss the interpretation of the different provisions of a law. A teacher, on the other hand, gives a holistic picture of the subject. A teacher aims at the following: First, to provide a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the subject and the basic concepts involved. This may not involve narration of all facts, provisions, and cases. In the process, the teacher, through experience, learns to emphasize certain important aspects and weed out many confusing and irrelevant details. This is not to say that those details are irrelevant. They are left for further reading, once the students are equipped with an understanding of the basic concepts and issues. ......................................................................................................................................
