Description

Human rights of women now occupy the center stage of world attention. International law as well as national law take a pro-women view wherever required, treating women as equal partners in sustainable human development. Women comprise nearly half of the world population and same ratio is true about almost every country. It is now increasingly realised that women, therefore, constitute nearly half in the human resource of humanity. So besides the International Level, without caring for women, self guarding their human rights and their active participation in the development process no country can progress.Incidentally, in 2004, I was invited as an expert by the National Commission for Women (NCW), at its national headquarters in New Delhi, to give a presentation relating to various aspects of "Cyber Violence Against Women" (a theme on which I had presented papers at the international fora) which had added a new dimension to the already existing various forms of violation of human rights of women. Ever Since, I decided to work more than in the area of human rights of women that was becoming a cause of the national level and was attracting greater attention of the international community.
