Description
While remaining faithful to the fundamental structure of the original book, all the chapters have been thoroughly revised and to a large extent rewritten. Besides, a dedicated chapter (Chap. 37) authored anew by me on the theme of constitutional interpretation is a distinct highlight of this edition. To make the book accessible, the discussion in all the chapters is organised systematically in appropriate themes and sub-themes. By and large, this edition has covered the constitutional developments and case laws till September 2022. However, bearing in mind the extraordinary importance of some landmark pronouncements of the Supreme Court delivered till the second week of November involving issues like EWS quota, reproductive rights of women, abrogation of two-finger test, etc. have also been incorporated. In the interest of keeping the book within reasonable bound, I had to make difficult decisions to discard some of the outdated jurisprudence and constitutional developments
