Description
The student approaching the subject of trusts and equity for the first time is faced with a constellation of textbooks from which to choose. It is a range of choice that testifies both to the dynamic nature of the subject and to the diverse opinions that it engenders in those who teach it. One commentator has even suggested that books on trusts may be a 'song without end. The present book is not the end of the song, but, hopefully, it contributes a new verse that is consonant with the needs of students and their tutors. The aim has been to produce a lucid and readable text of medium length, which provides comprehensive coverage of the subject matter of typical undergraduate courses in trusts and equity. At the same time, it is hoped that the student reader will be stimulated to engage in critical reflection upon the ever-shifting frontiers of the subject. For further inspiration, the reader is directed throughout the pages of this book to specialist academic works on particular aspects of the subject, many of the most influential of which are published by Oxford University Press.
