Almost all the universities in India have prescribed two papers in the subject of sociology, namely, Sociology-I and Sociology-II in their curriculum for five years law course. Sociology-I deals with the concepts, principles and theories of the science of sociology in general. Sociology-II deals with the related topics of Indian society, namely, the trends of social change in Indian society, social process in India, major institutions of Indian society; development and cultural values in India and social problems in India. The author has already presented the book 'Sociology-I' and now is presenting the rook 'Sociology-II.' Different universities have emphasised different topics. On the basis of the syllabus of the Bar Council of India and syllabi of different universities, the author has dealt with all the topics related to Indian society based on the books referred to in the Bibliography. The author expresses his sincere gratitude to the great authors and publishers of the references. The author is, further, thankful to the publishers M/s. Allahabad Law Agency, Faridabad for bringing out this book in an attractive form. It is hoped that the present volume will meet in a great measure the needs of those for whom it is meant.
