Description
Sociology is the science of society in which we live. As man is a social animal, the study of sociology makes a man perfect. Hence, sociology has been prescribed as a subject for law students. This book is written based on the syllabus of the Bar Council of India and the syllabi of different universities. The content of the subject has been presented in five units-(i) Sociology as a Science of Society; (ii) Basic Concepts in Sociology; (iii) Social Institutions; (iv) Social Stratification; and (v) Social Change in India. The author expresses his sincere gratitude to the great authors and publishers of the references given in the Bibliography. The author is grateful to Dr. N. Ashok Kumar, Ph.D. (Sociology) Professor, Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies, Usmania University, Hyderabad for the illuminating foreword. Further, the author is thankful to the publishers M/s. Allahabad Law Agency, Faridabad for bringing out the book in an attractive form. It is hoped that the present volume will meet in a great measure the needs of those for whom it is meant. Suggestions from the readers for improvement are welcome and will be gratefully acknowledged.
