Description
For the last several decades, Sarkar Civil Court Practice & Procedural Manual has been a monumental work widely used by the legal fraternity as a dependable and comprehensive reference text. It is my great honor and privilege to present to the readers the 14th edition of this celebrated classic and authoritative text. First and foremost, a few words on the concept and purpose of this book. This work is predominantly focused on providing the readers with a handy and reliable commentary on various provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 ("Code"). For ease of understanding, the multitude of provisions and rules in the Code are systematically arranged and structured - with a view to present to the readers the entire life of a suit from its institution to execution. Part II of this book is aimed at familiarizing the readers with some other key statutes/legislations that they will encounter or may be required to refer to in their day-to-day practice of civil law. And, Part III contains various forms of pleadings, petitions, deeds, etc. This edition has been updated and extensively revised to incorporate new case law, include any amendments and/or legislative changes in various provisions and highlight scores of c her significant changes and developments, wherever required. Various Chapters in Part I have been thoroughly updated; and some notable changes have been introduced in Part II. For instance, amongst other revisions, the chapter on Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 has been extensively revised, a ready reference chart on the Commercial Courts Act, 2015 with some key decisions is incorporated and a short commentary on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 is also provided.
