Description
It is astonishing as to how time files. It seems only yesterday that a new Act in the form of Competition Act, 2002 was passed to replace the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969. The Competition Act has completed its ten years of effective enforcement in 2019. The Competition Commission of Indian must be commended for what it has been able to achieve in this limited time frame. The Government has now set up a panel to review the competition law and suggest changes, if necessary in view of the changing business environment. Interest development have taken place since the last edition pf this book. On the legislative front, the Combinations Regulations and the General Regulations were amended to bring in more procedural clarity to the functioning of the Commission.
