Description
It is a great pleasure to the author to bring out second edition of The Rule of Law and Vicarious Liability of Government. Since the last edition, the cases decided by the courts have added to matter worth to be researched and published. Liability of Government in the wider sense that includes liability of public authorities also is expanding with interpretative technique by application of fundamental rights in awarding compensation. The author has surveyed and tried to analyse the law with the hope that this edition will be a better contribution. The references of foreign jurisdictions have been given with the limitation of author relating to availability of literature. The public law remedy under Articles 21, 32, 226 besides Articles 14 and 300A contribute and strengthen Rule of Law in the field of liability of Government.
The author expresses his gratitude to Mr. Asok De, Director of Eastern Law House, his son Mr. Sovik De and the Editor, Mr. Somnath Chakraborty for their sincere efforts in the improvement of the work. Hopefully, the book is expected to serve the purpose being informative on the subject-matter.
