Chris Howard has over 20 years' experience in UK and cross-border restructurings. He is ranked in the top-tier of European restructuring lawyers by Chambers and he is a partner at Sullivan X Cromwell LLP, where he heads the European restructuring practice.

Bob Hedger is a well-known restructuring banker having been involved in many high profile situations since the early 1990s. He is currently Director Global Restructuring Group, UK Corporate, Royal Bank of Scotland. This role sees him lead large corporate and leveraged finance restructuring trans¬actions, largely in the UK but also in other jurisdictions. Bob has been in banking for 39 years and is highly regarded and experienced in his field having specialised in corporate restructurings/workouts since first becoming involved in a number of high-profile distressed corporate problems during the UK recession of the early 1990s. He has since been involved, most often as lead banker performing the role of co-ordinator, in a significant number of complex and well-publicised UK and cross border restructurings, involving a variety of different stakeholders.
Having joined the Special Situations Group within NatWest in 1990 and moved into the equivalent unit in RBS upon the takeover of NatWest in 2000, Bob has 23 years of continual relevant experience. Bob was nominated for and awarded the Society of Turnaround Professionals (STP) 'Turnaround Financier of the Year' in 200 J for his work in respect of the MyTravel restructuring and in 2008 co-authored the first edition of this book.
