Description
Ramaswamy lyer's The Law of Torts is a concerted effort in streamlining the various concepts in the field of law of torts in modern India. It is a comprehensive and detailed commentary, critically analysing the nuances of this intriguing branch of law, which is not codified in India, and is largely dependent on precedents and caselaw. The current edition has been revised to include a large number of judicial pronouncements, both Indian and foreign. This edition offers several new chapters on emerging concepts in tort law, including cyber torts; torts relating to environment, and domestic violence; right to information. The commentary of the previous edition has also been updated, including chapters on Consumer Protection Act 1986, Absolute Liability, Vicarious Liability, and Causation.
The book, in its characteristic style, puts across many complicated concepts in a crisp and lucid manner. It will prove to be invaluable for legal practitioners, as well as students of law.
