Description
Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO) was enacted to ensure protection of children from offences of sexual assault, sexual harassment and pornography with objective of safeguarding the interest of child at every stage of judicial process. The Act specially seeks to provide children easy procedure and mechanism for child-friendly reporting and recording of evidence, investigation and speedy trial of offences through designated special courts. The act defines and contains provisions for a variety of offences under which an accused can be punished. It recognises new forms penetration other than penile vaginal penetration and criminalises acts immodesty against children too. The book is a humble attempt to provide the esteemed readers the provisions of the Act along with relevant case-laws as well as allied law, so that the student, lawyers and judges and others may get complete information about the POCSO Act.
