Description
The Bar Council of India made the Bar Council of India Training Rules, 1995 insisting on one year apprenticeship before enrolment in Bar Council. However, the Supreme Court struck down these rules in its orders dated 12th and 15th March, 1999 [V. Sudeer v. Bar Council of India, AIR 1999 SC 1167]. Then, the Bar Council of India introduced new Rules of Legal Education (in Part IV) through the Resolution No. 110/2008 dated 14th September, 2008 by insisting four compulsory Clinical Courses for Law Students under Practicals. One of them is the subject "Professional Ethics, Accountancy for Lawyers and Bar-Bench Relations". Based on this I wrote a book 'Professional Ethics, Accountancy for Lawyers and Bench-Bar Relations' in 2002 as per the then syllabi of different Universities. During this year, 2020, I decided to revise the book, as nearly two decades of time has passed. In this new edition, I reorganized the subject and presented the subject under five Units namely, 1) Legal Profession; 2) Bar Councils and Enrolment; 3) Professional Ethics; 4) Accountancy for Advocates and 5) Bar-Bench Relations along with case laws.
