, is currently Professor and Head, Department of Forensic Medicine, College of Medicine, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Kochi, Kerala. Earlier he has been Professor and Head, Department of Forensic Medicine in the Medical Colleges of Trivandrum, Alappuzha and Thrissur, and has functioned as Police Surgeon of the respective districts. He was the Director, State Medicolegal Institute, Trivandrum, and the State Medicolegal Expert and Consultant. He has also served as the Medicolegal Adviser to Kerala Police and guest faculty at the Police Training College. Briefly he has also worked as the Medicolegal Consultant in Libya. As a forensic pathologist, he has received encomium from the judiciary and law enforcement agencies. He has perfected techniques of photographic superimposition and plastic reconstruction of face from skull. He has written several articles and books; some of his well-known works are Science in the Detection of Crime, Investigation of Unnatural Deaths, Practical Forensic Medicine, Forensic Medicine for the Police.
