Description
It is my pleasure to revise the book "Pleadings, Drafting and Conveyancing" penned by Adv. R.N. Chaturvedi, a noted and acclaimed author of the country. The task was not easy. I had to read the entire book first, to find out what more could be done to make the book more useful and handy for the readers.
In my endeavour, I found that after publication of the fifth edition of the book in 2018, some important legislative events took place, which were so relevant to the purpose of this book, that assimilation thereof could not be escaped from. New laws, such as, "The Consumer Protection Act, 2019", "Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023", "Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023" and "Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023" were enacted which repealed and replaced the erstwhile "The Consumer Protection Act, 1986", "Indian Penal Code, 1860", "Criminal Procedure Code, 1973" and "Indian Evidence Act, 1872" respectively. It was necessary to incorporate into the book the sympathetic alterations and modifications, which eventually changed the complexion of the book.
Not only this, in my opinion, some descriptive notes on the extant civil and criminal laws would be advantageous to the users and hence those are included. Some more model forms have been inserted to advance the purpose of the book.
The thoroughly revised up-to-date sixth edition of the book is in your hands. I am sure the readers will find it comprehensive but crisp and shall reap the benefits intended by the revision author.
