Description
It is often the circumstances that dictate many of our decisions. This revised edition is one of those. Usually, one does not see another edition of a book on patent law within a year, but circumstances unconnected with the law's evolution led to this edition. Merrily, there were some exciting developments in the law of patents in the short span of one year between the previous edition and this edition of the book. For instance, the UK Supreme Court's judgement in the Unwired case has created a ripple, and a massive one at that, in terms of how a Court can deal with Standard- Essential Patents (SEPs). The current edition covers this judgment and its implication in the Indian context, apart from independently exploring the development in India's jurisprudence in the area of SEPs. The COVID-19 pandemic has also raised an interesting debate on compulsory licensing, and this revised edition has allowed me to address it in a limited way.
