Description
THIS book is an added proof of the words of the Preacher, in scripture, that "of the making of many books there is no end." The apology for adding another to the long and rap- idly lengthening catalogue of law books is the belief that it will give the student a general outline of law, and a brief statement of the elementary ideas that form the basis of law. In the courses of study in law schools several topics are usually taken up at the same time and carried on, each under the instructor zpon that subject, and each is treated with little reference to the general system The aim of this volume is to give the student a glimpse of the general framework of our jurisprudence, so that he may perceive the relation of each subject to the whole, and refer each branch or topic of the law to its elementary principles and appropriate place in the system
Only general principles are nere stated The scope of the work leaves but little room for explanation, none for dis- cussion.
