Description
Hospitality industry is vast and diverse. Amongst its various components, hotels and restaurants are the most significant as they constitute the largest share in the industry and also because they offer overnight stay for guests which requires provision of a number of services, facilities and luxuries to the guests. As a result, the management of such establishments becomes even more challenging, as the managers need to anticipate and meet a wide variety of needs. They have also to handle tasks such as service of food, housekeeping, staff management, etc. It is only by improving their services/facilities that hotels can claim a superior classification from the Government and enhance their goodwill in the eyes of their patrons. Provision of various services and luxuries in hotels and restaurants, however, requires knowledge of different laws regulating them, as also that of Government's policy and guidelines relating to approval and classification of these establishments. This first edition of Nabhi's LAW RELATING TO HOTELS AND RESTAURANTS ALONGWITH GOVERNMENT POLICY AND GUIDELINES, 2015, attempts to bring together at one place all laws, rules and regulations which may require compliance in setting up and running a hotel or restaurant. The book begins with the chapter 'Why this Book' which elaborates the current scenario of hospitality industry in India particularly the hotels and restaurants, its prospects considering the flow of tourists in India and various initiatives taken by the Government in this regard, and finally explains how the book shall be of immense practical use both for the upcoming projects and the already established ones.
