Description
It is with immense pleasure that I present this Book on Maritime Law to the academic community which will be useful as a hand book. This book would not have been possible without the guidance, support and encouragement of several individuals who have played a significant role in my academic and professional journey viz. law teacher, marketing executive, lawyer, judicial officer etc. Since this book is mainly intended to be used as a Text Book for students of graduate as well as post graduates of Law, taking Maritime Law as an elective subject, it is my endeavor to make the presentation student's friendly and as simple as possible.
I have taken my earnest efforts and pain to supplement all genuine queries from the stakeholders of this subject and tried my level best to add numerous judgments, case laws and citations. The book covers topics such as Maritime Law and Practices, Law of the Sea, Law relating to shipping, Law relating to Marine Insurance, Maritime Jurisdiction & Admiralty Law, Marine Pollution and Legal Control, Law relating to Fisheries, Law relating to Carriage of Goods by Sea etc.
So, this book is the culmination of my efforts to provide a comprehensive and accessible guide to maritime law and practices. I hope that it will serve as a valuable resource for students, research scholars and practitioners in this field, and that it will contribute to the advancement of knowledge and understanding of this critical area of law.
First and foremost, I must express my sincere gratitude to the Hon'ble Mr. Justice Syam Kumar V.M, Judge, High Court of Kerala, who was my teacher while pursuing my LL.M (Maritime Law), at Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Cochin; the most eminent and expert faculty in the subject of Maritime Law across India., for his inspiring Foreword on this book. His continuous unwavering support and encouragements have enabled me to pursue my passion for teaching and research in Maritime Law.
