Description

The concept of adverse possession is based on the fact of dispossessionof the owner, the gaining of legal possession by the dispossessor andnegligence on the part of the owner to seek remedial action within aprescribed time. The law relating thereto has seen considerabledevelopment since Law of Adverse Possession by Krishnaswami was firstpublished in 1940. Keeping this in mind, chapters in this presentedition have been rearranged and new chapters added to give the readera better understanding of this unique law.
The author has made a special effort to provide clarity to aspects ofadverse possession relating, among other things, to its commencement,continuity and conclusion, relationship between licensor and licenseeand vendor and vendee and benami transactions. Case law has beenupdated till May 2002.
