Description
Among all Professions, Legal Profession is the noblest. For sound and effective system of the administration of justice, there must exist, (i) well organised system of Courts and (ii) well developed system of law. These two postulates for the sound and effective administration of justice to deliver pure and impartial justice can be achieved only through the well-organise profession of law. It is rightly said that “Bench and Bar are the two wheels of the chariot of justice” and hence, the members of the Legal Profession enjoy a high social status. An advocate (as a member of the Bar and as an officer of the Court) plays a predominent role in assisting the court by presenting the most appropriate legal material relating to the case so that the Judge (as a member of the Bench) will be able to interpret law effectively to deliver pure and impartial justice. Therefore, an advocate has been described as the "Minister of Justice”. Every profession, legal profession in particular must strictly comply with ethics, i.e. the science of morals. Non-compliance to professional ethics by an advocate amounts to professional misconduct, which renders the advocate unfit to continue the profession.
