Description
In the present edition, we have taken note of development on the subject in India and also in foreign countries. Case law upto 2023 has been covered, which includes Rajeev Suri v. DDA (New Parliament House) and State of Jharkhand v. Brahmputra Metallics Ltd.2, wherein the doctrine of legitimate expectation has been dealt with exhaustively by the Supreme Court. Various topics have been discussed in detail. Certain new topics have also been added. We have made the present work more methodical and systematic by placing all relevant doctrines (the doctrine of proportionality, the doctrine of estoppel, the doctrine of legitimate expectation, etc.) in one and the same lecture. We have, however, taken care to ensure that the book remains as "Student Edition" and does not become a Commentary or Treatise on the subject. Readers interested in detailed and analytical approach to various issues may refer to Lawyers' Edition of the Authors' Administrative Law.
