Description
The book in your hand, presently in its ninth edition, was first published in 2005. Its popularly grew with every successive edition and thus the book went into eight editions till 2018 with number of reprints in between. This shows the book has sustained interest of the legal practitioners and others throughout this time. I must thank all my readers for the interest and appreciation shown by them. While working on the ninth edition of this magnum opus on the Law of Securitisation, I was obfuscated by the unanimity of decisions holding that the power under section 14 of the Act is an administrative power. This observation sounds like psittacism sans reasons in its support. Called by whatever name, text of section 14 is not liable to change its hue, yet I have no faith in the Shakespearean dogma that "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet". Imputting any other name to the rose, may not dilute its fragrance yet the imputation of any other name to the rose would be a grammatical fraud and a mutiny in botany.
