Description
The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 has so far been amended six times in the years 1993, 1994, 2000, 2001, 2015, 2019 (Act was also amended in the year 1993 by the Kerala Government, but those provisions were further amended by the Central Amendment Act of 1994). However, Central and State Motor Vehicles Rules have been amended frequently. The eighth edition of this book covers Motor Vehicles Act with Central and State Rules incorporated with all amendments upto August, 2022 (Central Rules amended upto 14th Amendment Rules of 2022). Fatal Accidents Act, Kerala Torts (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act and Kerala Motor Accidents Claims Tribunals Rules have been included in this edition. We have included all latest Rules under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Notifications and Circulars along with table of offences and penalties, given at the end of the book will be handy for day-to-day use in the Department. We have attempted to incorporate all case laws of the Supreme Court reported in AIR, SCC, SCALE and the decisions of Kerala High Court reported in KHC, KLD, KLT, KLJ, ILR (Kerala) and AIR (Kerala) upto September, 2022 on the subject. We are sure that this book will be of immense use to the Motor Vehicles Department, Lawyers, Courts and the public alike.
