Description
Law of Insurance has its origin and roots in England and has a long history. It entered India along with British rule. Many foreign insurance companies started the business of insurance and some Indian businessmen joined it as it is profitable. There was rapid growth of the business of insurance in  India.The Government of India nationalised both the Life Insurance and General (non-life) insurance in the interest of nation. after, due to liberalisation policy of government, 'privatisation' took place in all sectors of business. At present, there are both public and private companies in the insurance business. The State enacted laws to control and regulate life and non-life insurance business. Now, both professionals and common men are concerned with that of insurance. No one is there in India without having one or other policy of life or non-life insurance policies. As the Insurance Law plays an important role, all Indian Universities made the Law of Insurance as a compulsory subject in Law Degree Courses. The Author presents this text on Law of Insurance following the syllabi of Bar Council and different Universities. No text-book writer can claim originality of thought as he has to explain the prescribed topics based on given references.The readers of this text-book are advised to use this volume for academic purposes only.
