Description
Need for publication of the present seventh edition of this established work on the subject within a span of less than three years since its last edition bears enough testimony to its usefulness and popularity. In view of the stock of the earlier edition having been exhausted and there being demand for the same and, above all, there have been a good number of amendments in the Schemes under the Act which necessitated publication of a new edition. It is mainly through the Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952, Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995 and Employees' Deposit-linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 that provisions of the Act are implemented. There have been a large number of amendments in these Schemes since the last edition. The book has been brought up to date by incorporating all the amendments made up to December, 2016 at the appropriate places. With new problems cropping up, the law of Employees' Provident Funds is ever evolving. About 350 new judgments were handed down by various High Courts and the Supreme Court after the publication of the last edition. All these judgments have been analysed and commented upon in the work in hand. Case law reported up to December, 2016 has been taken into account.
