Description
Since the publication of the third edition in the year 2002 the Copyright Act has not undergone any amendment. However, a number of decisions have been given by the courts of India and England on various aspects of Copyright Law. These have been incorporated in the present edition. One important feature relates to the impact of digital technology on the copyright. The conversion of any copyright material in the digital form have facilitate the storage of information and transmissions of such material from one computer to another computer situated anywhere in the world almost instantly at the speed of light. At the same time the same technology has enabled the infringement and theft of valuable information storied in databases in digital form. The development of internet has enabled the communications of information from one computer to another computer situated any where in the world almost instantly. The problems of detecting the source of such infringement is highly complicated and expensive.
