Description
The present book is a humble effort to contribute to the existing legal. literature on the law relating to contracts and specific relief. The book comprises two distinct parts, namely, Part I, dealing with the general principles of Law of Contract and Part II devoted to Law of Specific Relief with latest amendments made therein by the Specific Relief (Amendment) Act, 2018, and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. The book offers a comprehensive analysis and a systemetic exposition of these two inter-related branches of commercial law, well arranged under logical chapters and headings with extensive coverage of relevant provisions in a thoroughly revised form, updated with all legislative developments and includes a wide range of notable judicial pronouncements rendered by the Supreme Court and High Courts. While English authorites have been cited wherever necessary to explain the principles of law, due care has been taken to focus on statutorily embodied law and its applicablility in the Indian legal sphere. An effort has been made to present the book in a lucid style so as to make it easier for the readers to understand the interplay of various sections of the Law of Contracts and specific relief. The author has taken utmost care to incorporate authentic information on the subject, yet, the possibility of some errors creeping in inadvertantly cannot be ruled out. They may please be brought to the notice of the author so as to be taken care of in the subsequent edition.
