Description
Land is a free gift of nature. It acts as a source of creation. It sustains as well as destructs living and non-living things. It is an important matter of production and a symbol of social status. It constitutes main element of sovereign state. The progress and prosperity of any country highly depends on land. Land in its overall natural existence is limited by what has been fixed by nature. Its extent cannot be extended or expanded horizontally. Land occupies a predominant position in all walks of life and this multiplies the value of holding land in social life. Inspired and fascinated by the concept of real property which was part of my Doctrinal studies I started working on the subject of land laws. It was a subject for the past 16 years of my teaching career. I could find a fascinating analysis of different land legislations across the states specially in my state. Absence of a book which cover the whole syllabus of land laws in Kerala also inspired the work in hand. This is an attempt to put forward the collections through my classroom experiences. This would be a helping hand to the law students in Kerala as well as the aspirants of judicial service. I have no words to express my gratitude to the HONOURABLE JUSTICE MOHAMMED MUSHTAQ, SENIOR JUDGE, HIGH COURT OF KERALA, who was kind enough to write a forward and encourage my work. I thank Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Viju P Devassy, Director, Christ (Deemed to be University) NCR and Rev. Fr. Sunny Joseph, Campus Administrator for encouraging me and availaing to me all resources needed for the publication of this book. I thank Almighty God who is the strength behind this work and I dedicate this work to my dearest husband who always inspired me to work hard. I am thankful to my children as well as my beloved parents for supporting in my efforts. I am thankful to all my friends. I also thank the publisher who accepted this work and found it worth publishing.
