Description
Labour Law and Industrial development are inseparable. Labour is the source for capital formation. Hence capitalists are tempted to exploit the labourers to maximise their profits. At the beginning of industrial growth, there was no end to the hardships of labourers. They were made to work hours together, paid a meagre wages and forced to work under unhealthy conditions. Communists propagated revolution to over through the capitalist system to enjoy the fruits of their toil. To provide solace to the labour class, the States entered into the field and enacted a number of Acts to protect the interests of the labourers. Labour Law acts as balm to get solace from the pains of exploitation. Labour law improved the living conditions of millions of working class. The author is in touch with labour problems. He has specialised the 'Labour and Industrial Economies' in his Masters Degree. He studied labour law for his L.L.B. and L.L.M. (Commercial Law) Examinations. In this book of Labour Law (2 volumes) he presents all the relevant Indian Labour Acts. This text-book has been written based on the syllabi of Bar Council of India and different Universities along with National Law Institutes. No text-book writer can claim originality of thought as the prescribed topics have to be dealt with, based on the references. The author has referred to the books listed in Bibliography and expresses his profound gratitude to the eminent authors and publishers of the books referred to. The readers are advised to use this text-book for academic purpose only.
