Description
Children of today are the citizens of tomorrow. As responsible citizens, we all have a duty to ensure that our children are provided with the best of the surroundings so that they are brought up as true and responsible citizens. In spite of our best efforts to provide adequate safety and security to our children, it is a sad fact that the crimes against the juveniles are on the rise. Since many of the provisions in the Indian Penal Code could not effectively provide for punishments for crime against children, new Statutes were enacted. Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 is one of them. Recently, the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 was replaced with the new Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, with a view to improve the child protection measures.
