Description
'Indian Political Thought' was a part of the subject 'Political Thought', which catered to the needs of the students of Political Science. Now, Indian Universities have prescribed it as a separate subject for degree courses. Though the content is a vast one, the topics of syllabus are limited. This volume contains five units: the first is concerned with 'Ancient Indian Political Thought'; the second deals with 'Sources of Hindu Political Thought'; the third explains 'Religious Political Thoughts; the fourth consists of 'Liberalism, Marxism and Sarvodaya in Indian Political Thought' and the fifth is related to 'Modern Indian Political Thinkers'. I present this volume followed by the syllabuses of different Universities and Institutions. I confess that the material produced in this volume is not entirely original. In the preparation of this volume, I have depended on the rich material available in the form of original works as well as other published books referred by the Universities under the syllabus of the subject. I owe a great debt of gratitude to eminent writers on this theme for providing abundant material. As it is not possible to acknowledge the individual authors, I seek pardon from the established writers. The readers of this text-book are advised the use this book for academic purpose only.
