The Indian Evidence Act, 1872 (Act No. 1 of 1872) [As amended upto date by the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013] with Important and Recent Case Laws

Description
Facts, Inferences from facts, and statements which tend to convince a Court or other inquiring body that certain facts, the state of which is unknown but being inquired into are, to a certain effect. While the task of the Court to ascertain if at all possible the true state of the facts being inquired into, would suggest that everything which casts light on these facts might be brought to the notice of the Court, the rules of evidence, based partly on experience and partly, in some cases, on ruling applicable to circumstances which no longer apply, frequently restrict the kinds of evidence which may be adduced. The development of the law of evidence is however on the whole a movement from reliance on non-rational grounds for decision to rational grounds.
