Description
This Book "Hindu Law" is being released as third Edition. In the present Edition we have taken utmost care to see that the lapses and mistakes in the prior Editions are duly rectified. Though cent percent Excellence may be an impossibility, we have put forth our efforts to the best of our ability to bring up this Edition well. We have also kept in mind the suggestions poured from different quarters in the past for the further improvement of this Book. We have taken care to see that the decisions are placed at appropriate places for the convenient understanding of the subject. The factors to be considered for granting divorce on the ground of mental cruelty had been discussed in Joydeep Majumdar v. Bharati Jaiswal Majumdar'. The distinctions of right to maintenance under the provisions of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 and the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, 1956 had been dealt with in Rajnesh v. Neha². Certain chapters like Joint Family Coparcenary and Partition etc., have been further improved. We may be failing in our duty if we won't acknowledge the valuable assistance given by several advocates inclusive of Sri P. Jagadish Chandra Prasad and Sri Phanindra Kumar Chennupati.
