Description
Women constitute nearly fifty percent of the country's population. They are helpless at times and therefore, need proper care, protection, nourishment so that they become useful member of the society. The future of a nation depends on the welfare and wellbeing of women and children. State is under obligation to provide basic human rights and protect from all form of exploitation. Therefore, at national and international level various enactments, conventions, recommendations, declarations and policies are formulated for protection and welfare of females. Even judiciary since long period of time has been playing a pivotal role for the protection of women, children offences against women or better to say rights for women has become a subject of study now-a-days at the graduate and post-graduate level in various law faculties. I felt there is a need of a book on Gender Justice and Feminist Jurisprudence to deal with the subject on women rights. This book is a humble attempt to comply that need. The basic objective of this book is to provide the student, teachers and researchers topics on women related issues, their rights and obligations. I hope that this book would cater the needs of the students, academicians, researchers and all other persons in the legal field. I shall consider my efforts to have been rewarded if this purpose is fulfilled. I wish my gratitude to Mr. Rajiv Arora of Central Law Publications who gave me the opportunity to present this book to the academic society. I owe my indebtedness to my family members for their support, encouragement and interest in giving a complete shape to this book. Suggestions for improvement are welcome and will be given full consideration in next edition.
