Description
If the law section of any good bookshop is perused there can be found a number of textbooks that are dedicated to explaining the intricacies of the English legal system. Some are large heavy tomes that take forever and a day to read but provide the reader with an in-depth and highly intellectual view of the system; others aim to explain the basic law but provide little insight into the issues that have arisen or can arise. This textbook aims to be slightly different to those other textbooks as it aims to do "what it says on the tin" (so to speak) and explain the "fundamentals" of the English legal system, whilst also highlighting and addressing the issues that can and do occur. The text is primarily focused towards undergraduate law students but would be of equal interest to those studying A-level law, CILEX, a law module in another discipline, or simply to those who are interested in learning about the English legal system for personal reasons. To aid understanding there is found within each chapter a number of visual aids (flowcharts, graphs and grids, etc.) so that that complex or important information is broken down into a user-friendly format. At the end of each chapter a number of Self Test Questions will be found so that understanding and retention of information can be evaluated.
