Description
The law of evidence continues to evolve. Almost all the chapters in the seventh edition show the impact of important new cases or developments in practice. The hottest topic, highlighted in the last edition, remains the treatment of vulnerable witnesses, Section 28 of the Youth Justice and Criminal Evidence Act 1999. for pre-recorded roll-out in June 2019 for witnesses eligible for special measures under s. 16 of the Act. To the regret of some the court confirmed that it will be rare for an intermediary to be appointed to assist a defendant to give evidence and extremely rare for one to be appointed for the whole trial.
