Description
Criminology is a new Science evolved just 100 years ago. It is the youngest science of all social sciences. First, the socoilogists started work on this subject. Later a separate group of scientists were evolved and named as criminologists. Criminology relates with every science known to human beings. It is a scientific, systematic statistical structural and functional science in depth, and is concerned with every wa'k of human life psychologically and physically. In fact, it is the combination of several sciences. However, it has its own distinctive characteristics. Now, Criminology has been recognised as a science, an empirical science. More particularly, it is one of the social behavioural sciences. Penology is a science and a branch of Criminology. This branch explains punishment and its relation to crime, and the management of prisons. The objects of Penology are narrower, and are confined to punishments and the management of prisons only.  Criminology and Penology subject is introduced as a paper in LL.B and LL.M in several Universities, suc as Gulbarga, Andhra, Madras, etc. This subject also called as " Criminology and Criminal Administrator.
