Description
Much has happened in the four years since I finished this book. To take account of all these changes is impossible. Nevertheless, I have made many additions, such as case laws relating to the topics and provisions. The Indian Home Ministry recently announced the enactment of three new criminal laws, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, effective from July 1, 2024. I tried my best to incorporate the relevant provisions of these legislations in the second edition. Secondly, I also added the landmark judgments of the Supreme Court at the relevant topics.
This is a humble attempt on the part of a beginner in the field of legal writing. The book entitled 'Criminal Psychology and Criminal Sociology' presents the complicated but interesting subject of criminal psychology and criminal sociology and various theories related to the criminal behaviour. This field of criminal law is closely related not only to the criminal psychology of the individual but also deals with the social, cultural, and other aspects of the individual behaviour.
This is an honest effort on the part of me to cover the comprehensive areas of the subject like, crime, criminal law and criminology, psychology and crime, criminal profiling, forensic psychology, crime and social structure, crime and social process etc.
This book is prepared for the students of different streams like Law, Sociology, Forensic Science etc. I have arranged the various aspects in the book topic-wise and all the relevant chapters and parts dealt with therein. This book is divided into seven chapters and for the better appreciation of the topic involved therein, various theories are discussed in detail.
