Description
The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 is one amongst a whole host of labour law legislations in India which were enacted to give employees various benefits and regulate the practice of employing contract labour to get around the labour welfare legislations. In a country like India the importance of welfare legislations, especially in the field of labour laws cannot be over emphasized. This is proved by the high number o instances in which the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 is invoked and the number of cases delivered by the various courts in the country which are continuously interpreting the provisions of the Act in newer light and newer contexts. It was due to this increase in the number of cases on the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 and the various interpretations given by these cases as well as amendments in light of India's recent push towards a more liberalized economy and specifically the new Forms prescribed under the "Rationalisation of Forms and Reports under certain Labour Laws Rules, 2017" and the "Ease of Compliance to Maintain Registers under Certain Labour Laws Rules, 2017", that the publishers felt the need to revise and update this book Commentaries on Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970 with the latest case laws and amendments. This book contains cases reported till December, 2017 from the major labour law journals of the country and also contains the major rules and regulations, etc.
